Personal Support Worker

PSW's promote client independence by supporting individuals with their activities of daily living (ADLs) including;

  • Personal Hygiene - Bathing/Showering, Grooming, Skin Care, Mouth Care/Denture Care

  • Eating - Meal Preparation, and assistance with feeding

  • Continence Management - Transfers to and from toilet, assistance in restroom, changing of briefs etc., incontinence care

  • Transferring/Mobility - Assistance when changing positions, as well as walking and use of assisted devices etc., exercises/range of motion.

  • Medication Help - Cueing, Observation and Assistance*

*Assistance means to provide the mechanical support that Client's are unable to perform themselves. (e.g. opening a pill container, opening a blister pack.)
